The hearing sets the sentence following August’s guilty verdict. Davis, 63, was arrested in September 2023. Shakur was shot in Las Vegas in September 1996 and died six days later.

According to AFP, Judge Carli Kierny rejected the idea that the passage of time allowed Davis to escape responsibility. Davis says he plans to appeal the verdict. That intention does not constitute a decision by an appeal court.
