Senegal: revised budget rejected again in committee
Senegal’s National Assembly finance committee again rejected the revised budget bill on 30 October 2026, according to a Pastef parliamentary group statement reported by SenePlus.
The group’s lawmakers consider the government’s answers inadequate and say the bill has not been amended. Their concerns cover debt, purchasing power, public investment and access to budget documents.
The refusal follows the government’s request to send the bill back to committee. It extends the parliamentary deadlock; it is not a final rejection by the full assembly.
On 29 October, the IMF had stressed that a budget preserving the negotiated parameters was necessary for the proposed programme to proceed. The new vote does not establish any release of funding.
