Market value increased by about 1.75 trillion naira from the previous session. This measures the valuation of listed shares and does not represent an equivalent amount of newly invested funds.

The industrial goods index gained 5.50%. Dangote Cement rose 9.80% to 1,341.90 naira a share. The market advance remained concentrated, however: Nigerian Tribune reports 20 rising stocks against 36 decliners.

The benchmark’s gain therefore masks different outcomes for individual companies. The aggregate closing figures describe neither every portfolio’s performance nor the results of subsequent sessions.
