Mastercard named Kapitalbank, National Bank of Uzbekistan, TBC Bank, Ipak Yuli Bank, Orient Finance Bank and Octobank as partners. Holders of supported cards can add them to Apple Wallet and pay with a compatible device.

The launch does not mean every card issued in the country works with Apple Pay. KontekstMedia reported that domestic networks Uzcard and Humo were not supported at launch.

Presidential administration chief Saida Mirziyoyeva welcomed the availability of Apple Pay and Google Pay, Interfax reported. It noted that Google Pay had already been announced the previous week.
