Where things stand

On 2 November 2026, Stellantis warned that a missing component had slowed Fiat production in October and could continue disrupting Mirafiori and Pomigliano in November and December. Fim-Cisl reported another week of temporary lay-offs at Mirafiori.

Stellantis warns of possible further disruption at Italian Fiat plants

Stellantis said on 2 November 2026 that a shortage of a component for the N3 GSE engine control unit had slowed production of several Fiat models in October. The group warned that disruption could affect Mirafiori and Pomigliano d’Arco in November and December.

The carmaker said the Pandina, assembled at Pomigliano, had been particularly affected. It says it is working with suppliers to restore component availability progressively, without announcing a date for full production to resume.

In Turin, Fim-Cisl reports another week of temporary lay-offs, from 2 to 6 November, in Mirafiori’s bodywork and components operations; several other units are excluded. The union is calling for a new production assignment and investment. Disruption in subsequent months remains a risk rather than a final shutdown timetable.

Stellantis narrows loss but industrial cash flow remains negative

Stellantis announced a third-quarter net loss of about €500 million on 28 October 2026, a 90% reduction from a year earlier. The carmaker nevertheless reported negative industrial free cash flow of €4 billion.

Quarterly revenue rose 1% to €37.6 billion. Revenue increased 3% in Enlarged Europe and South America, while falling 3% in North America, according to results released in Amsterdam.

Adjusted operating income reached about €300 million, with a margin of 0.7%. All regions posted positive adjusted margins except Enlarged Europe. The narrower net loss also reflects comparison with a 2025 period affected by exceptional charges.

Stellantis maintained its 2026 guidance and forecast positive industrial free cash flow in 2027. That remains a target: the reported quarter does not yet mark a return to positive cash generation.
