Mohammed VI: activities, speeches and Royal Office statements

This dossier traces Mohammed VI’s public activities since his accession on 23 July 1999: speeches, decisions and audiences, visits within Morocco and abroad, institutional and social reforms, major projects and Royal Office statements. It distinguishes announced directions, decisions and documented delivery. Full speeches and messages: the Communication Ministry’s six official collections provide access to archives from July 1999 to June 2024: 1999–2001 · 2002–2005 · 2006–2009 · 2010–2014 · 2015–2019 · 2019–June 2024. Maroc.ma’s archive extends access to recent speeches, including 2026. Each selected speech entry links to an official document or identified transcript. Full texts are available at the linked sources; they are not reproduced in full on Moojaz. The 2026 edition of the official collection adds further documents. Where things stand

As of 31 October 2026, the chronology covers milestones since 1999 and links occurrences already published in other dossiers. Its latest entries concern the 28 October working session on Nador West Med and Tanger Med and the royal pardon announced on 30 October. Reconstruction remains selective: daily activities, every visit and each speech have not yet been individually indexed. Official collections and links widen documentary access without establishing an exhaustive timeline.

For prisoners, the statement lists 17 pardons for remaining sentences, 595 sentence reductions and one commutation from life to a fixed term. The other measures concern prison sentences, fines or both. The total therefore does not mean 907 releases.

Government formation: Mohammed VI receives Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri

King Mohammed VI received Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri at the Royal Palace in Rabat on 14 October 2026, according to a Royal Cabinet statement. The head of government tasked with forming the new administration briefed him on the stages completed in that process.

The statement says the King wished her success in her mission and stressed mobilisation and responsible government action in responding to challenges and expectations.

The audience is an announced progress report in the government-formation process. The statement does not specify portfolio allocations, the composition of the ministerial team or an appointment date. It therefore does not establish that the new government has already been formed.

France places the Sahara’s present and future within Moroccan sovereignty

On 30 July 2024, a letter from Emmanuel Macron to Mohammed VI makes public France’s position that the Sahara’s present and future lie within Moroccan sovereignty.

Paris makes the 2007 autonomy plan the sole basis for a negotiated political solution. The Franco-Moroccan declaration of 28 October repeats this position within a strengthened partnership.

France’s role as a permanent Security Council member gives the shift particular weight for Rabat. It does not remove European institutions’ obligations or disagreements with Polisario and Algeria. Two tracks therefore remain: expanding political support for Morocco’s proposal and continuing legal questions over economic agreements and consent.
