Hong Kong exports rise 64.9% in September
Hong Kong merchandise exports reached HK$762.6 billion in September 2026, up 64.9% year on year. The statistics department released the figures on 28 October.
Imports rose 57.8% to HK$808.9 billion. The resulting trade deficit was HK$46.3 billion, compared with HK$50.2 billion a year earlier.
The government attributed export growth to strong shipments of artificial intelligence-related electronic products. These are monetary values: the rates alone do not describe changes in the physical volume of goods traded.
Over the first nine months of 2026, exports increased 45.2% and imports 45% compared with the same period in 2025.
