Tokayev announces 6.5 trillion tenge for infrastructure through end-2029
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on 28 October 2026 that Kazakhstan would allocate approximately 6.5 trillion tenge from the National Fund to infrastructure modernisation through the end of 2029. The government is to prepare the corresponding plan.
The announcement covers social facilities, transport and utility infrastructure across the country’s regions. The president called for 1.5 trillion tenge for social projects in the remaining months of 2026 and the first two months of 2027.
The address presents 2027 as a year of major construction and directs the government to establish the programme. This is a presidential commitment and an announced timetable, rather than evidence of expenditure already made.
Actual funding, project selection and delivery will need to be tracked separately to assess implementation of the proposed allocation.
