Where things stand

As of 2 November 2026, Alphabet is placing €6 billion in bonds across seven tranches, its second euro offering this year. It forecasts up to $205 billion in 2026 capital expenditure; proceeds are not earmarked for one activity.

The offering includes one floating-rate and six fixed-rate tranches, with maturities of two to nineteen years, according to documents cited by Reuters. Demand reported by an arranging bank slightly exceeded €17 billion during placement.

The financing comes as Alphabet forecasts up to $205 billion in 2026 capital expenditure. However, net proceeds are intended for general corporate purposes, potentially including debt repayment: the amount is not an exclusively AI budget.

The order book measures investor interest, rather than additional proceeds received by Alphabet.

Alphabet: Google Cloud revenue doubles as investment absorbs cash flow

The quarter ended 30 September produced $40.6 billion of operating income. But purchases of property and equipment reached $51.4 billion against $42.3 billion of operating cash flow, leaving free cash flow at approximately negative $9.1 billion.

Net income available to common shareholders fell to $26.2 billion, with investment losses among the factors. Cloud growth should not be read as revenue generated exclusively by AI.
