HCP puts tourism’s contribution at 7.5% of GDP in 2025

Morocco’s HCP published its 2025 tourism satellite account on 20 October 2026. Tourism GDP rose 11.7% year on year and represented 7.5% of national GDP, compared with 7.2% in 2024, according to the release.

Médias24 reports internal tourism consumption of 222.4 billion dirhams, up 10.3%. Spending by non-resident visitors, including Moroccans living abroad, contributed to that growth.

This week’s development is the release of the accounts: the figures describe 2025. Tourism GDP, consumption and travel receipts measure different things and should not be added together.
