According to the ministry statement carried by the press, signing is planned on the sidelines of International Telecommunication Union proceedings. The ministry presents the initiative as a way to strengthen Iraq’s role in international data links.

The reports do not detail the partner countries, capacity, prices or service launch dates. The announcement concerns a future signing and therefore does not establish that new transit services are already operating.
