The France–Senegal–Guinea-Bissau co-production intertwines a wedding in France with a farewell ritual in Guinea-Bissau. It brings professional and non-professional performers together to explore family ties and belonging.

The Silver Spike goes to Marine Atlan’s debut feature La Gradiva, which also wins the editing award for Guillaume Lillo. Lisandro Alonso receives the directing prize for La Libertad Doble. The acting awards honour Alba Rohrwacher for A Good Little Soldier and Swann Arlaud for Un hombre de nuestro tiempo.
