Where things stand

As of 2 November 2026, LongCat-2.5 has been announced and listed in the API. Meituan plans GitHub and Hugging Face releases; performance claims remain the developer’s.

Meituan launches LongCat-2.5 for coding agents and visual tasks

Meituan announced LongCat-2.5 on 2 November 2026, a text-and-image model aimed at multi-step coding tasks. It is offered through LongCat’s chat service and programming interface.

The developer says it has 1.6 trillion parameters, with roughly 48 billion activated per processed token. Meituan highlights visual understanding, work on complex codebases and complete software projects.

The API documentation distinguishes this release from LongCat-2.5-Preview, available since 25 September. GitHub and Hugging Face releases are still planned: service access does not mean the model weights are downloadable.

The claimed capability gains come from Meituan; the consulted sources do not provide an independent evaluation of the model.
