Philippe Jaenada wins the 2026 Prix Goncourt
Philippe Jaenada won the Prix Goncourt in Paris on 3 November 2026 for L’Inconnue du quai de Javel, published by Flammarion.
The jury announced its choice at the Drouant restaurant. The 62-year-old writer succeeds Laurent Mauvignier, the 2025 winner.
The book revisits the murder of a young woman in Paris in 1949. The literary investigation continues Jaenada’s work on old criminal cases and judicial archives.
