FPT begins pilot operations at Vietnam chip-testing factory

FPT announced first-phase pilot operations at its semiconductor testing and packaging factory in Bắc Ninh, Vietnam, on 3 November 2026. Six lines are intended to provide maximum capacity of 300 million chips a year.

The 1,600-square-metre facility is in Yên Phong II-C industrial park. It is intended to check component functions, quality and reliability; FPT plans an initial commercial order for a South Korean partner during the start-up period.

The group is also developing an AI platform to automate test-program preparation. That platform remains in development. The stated capacity is a design target; the consulted sources do not establish actual output at that level.
