Jordan: IMF staff agreement could unlock $294 million
The IMF and Jordanian authorities announced a staff-level agreement on two programme reviews on 3 November 2026. Approval by the Fund’s management and Executive Board would make about $294 million available.
The agreement covers the sixth review under the Extended Fund Facility and the third under the Resilience and Sustainability Facility. The proposed amounts are approximately $133 million and $161 million respectively; they have not yet been disbursed.
The IMF says quantitative performance criteria and most structural benchmarks for the sixth review were met. It assesses the economy as resilient to regional conflict spillovers despite pressure on tourism, transport and energy costs. These assessments remain the Fund’s own.
