Investment in Morocco’s Oriental region and the CRI’s role

This dossier follows investment and support for projects by the Regional Investment Centre across Oujda-Angad, Nador, Berkane, Taourirt, Guercif, Figuig, Jerada and Driouch in Morocco’s Oriental region. It distinguishes sector potential, announced opportunities and established delivery. Oujda-Angad: investor services and digital training, with the Technopole featured in promotion. Nador: industry at Selouane and opportunities associated with the port ecosystem. Berkane: the Agropole’s food industries, specialist training and tourism at Saïdia. Taourirt: an industrial zone listed in the CRI’s regional offering. Guercif: the training catalogue includes textiles, indicating available training rather than proving new investment. Figuig: date-processing training and oasis tourism potential. Jerada: industrial sites at Jerada, Guenfouda, Touissit and Beni Mathar. Driouch: included in the region and in the Swiss promotional visit described by the press; the examined sources provide no recent verified account of its projects. The CRI portal provides access to information on land, financing, incentives and procedures. Availability and eligibility require updating for each project; these presentations are neither sale offers nor decisions granting support.

Where things stand

As of 4 November 2026, Arabic and French publications report Swiss-supported advisory cooperation with IFC to attract investment. They establish neither project disbursements nor jobs created. Territorial coverage remains uneven; completed investment, actual employment, available land and current incentive conditions require recent documentation.

Reports describe advisory cooperation between Oriental’s CRI and IFC

Arabic and French publications report Swiss-supported advisory cooperation between Oriental’s Regional Investment Centre and IFC. The Arabic report dates the signing in Oujda to 28 October 2026.

The French coverage describes goals including identifying promising sectors, preparing investment opportunities and supporting existing businesses. These are work objectives, without established delivery results.

The Arabic report calls the document a memorandum, while the French account describes an advisory engagement letter. The original document was not obtained and the independence of the two accounts’ underlying origins is unestablished. The reports prove neither completed investment nor jobs created.
