Where things stand

According to QNA, the second biennial was inaugurated on 5 November 2026. Exhibitions are scheduled through 31 January 2027; first-day access conditions remain distinct from regular hours.

The programme centres on the historic Fereej Al Asmakh district, while Msheireb hosts the main Arab Design Now exhibition. The edition connects craft knowledge with contemporary design.

The inauguration is a separate development from the earlier calendar announcement. However, the official Arabic guide describes the first day as a programme for invited guests and dignitaries, with specific public hours still to be confirmed. Regular visiting hours therefore do not establish access arrangements on 5 November.

The route centres on Fereej Al Asmakh's heritage houses, courtyards and public spaces. Arab Design Now is also listed at Building i22 in Msheireb. Mexico is this edition's guest country.

The official Arabic guide describes November 5 as a ceremony day for invited guests and VIPs, with public opening hours still to be confirmed. This distinction matters to visitors: the announced opening date does not guarantee unrestricted entry to every space on the first day.
