Tour du Faso: Daumont takes yellow as Riahi wins in Koupela

Burkina Faso’s Paul Daumont took the overall lead in the Tour du Faso on 6 November 2026 after stage eight from Ouagadougou to Koupela. Algeria’s Anes Riahi won the stage ahead of Morocco’s Youssef Bdadou and Daumont.

The African Cycling Confederation and Wakat Séra report the change of leader, with Gustav Basson surrendering the yellow jersey. Daumont’s third place therefore produced a gain in the overall classification, separate from Riahi’s stage victory.

The Koupela podium is also reported by 3bikes. Riahi followed his victory the previous day in Po, already documented in this dossier.

Two stages remain before the final finish in Ouagadougou, according to the confederation. The new leader still has to defend his position: taking the jersey is not an overall Tour victory. The detailed time gaps in the general classification are not established by the documents used here.

ActuBurkina and Benin Web TV report a winning time of 3 hours 12 minutes 33 seconds over 143.76 kilometres. Their accounts put Algeria’s stage-win total in this edition at four.

South Africa’s Gustav Basson retains the yellow jersey, ActuBurkina reports. The stage winner and overall leader therefore remain different riders; the day’s result does not amount to overall victory in the Tour.
