Pliant raises $80 million to develop AI-agent payment infrastructure

Illuminate Financial, Motive Partners and Molten Ventures also participate. Pliant says third-party assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT can connect through MCP to integrate financial-management tasks into business processes.

This does not mean autonomous transfers without oversight: Pliant's documentation says agents prepare actions and people confirm them. Money movement is not currently exposed to agents in this offering. Funding and future plans therefore need to be distinguished from capabilities already available.
