Marseille win at Leverkusen to earn first Europa League points
Olympique de Marseille defeated Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 at the BayArena on 5 November 2026 in Europa League matchday four. Amine Gouiri scored the only goal in the 77th minute.
Marseille earned their first three points of the league phase. They had lost their opening three matches against Beşiktaş, Olympiacos and Sturm Graz, according to UEFA’s published schedule and results.
Football365’s live coverage describes Marseille protecting their lead late on, including a goalkeeper save from a Schick header in added time. The victory keeps their qualification campaign alive without securing passage to the next stage.
UEFA’s schedule lists a home match against Levski Sofia on 26 November. Four league-phase games remained to be played after this result.
