Meduza identifies the entities as JTI Donskoy Tabak, JTI Yelets, Kres Neva and Petro. The affected stakes include holdings owned through companies based in the Netherlands and Switzerland.

The group told The Moscow Times it was assessing the situation and its options, prioritising stakeholders, particularly employees. That response specifies neither a legal challenge already filed nor a timetable for regaining control.

The measure concerns management of the Russian assets. The consulted sources do not establish a completed outright sale to a new buyer or the full operational details of implementation.
