Three face US charges over alleged $129 million AI impersonation fraud

Federal prosecutors in Manhattan unsealed an indictment against Jacob Soall, Sharon Hazan and Guy Sheetrit on 5 November 2026. They allege an AI scheme impersonating executives and lawyers caused losses of more than $129 million.

According to the charges, fake executive calls were followed by contacts with fake lawyers to obtain transfers portrayed as confidential. The case names US hospital systems and a British financial technology company among the alleged victims.

The three men were arrested in Spain or the United Kingdom; extradition requests remain pending. They are presumed innocent. The loss figure and AI’s alleged role are prosecutors’ allegations; the release does not identify the tools used.
