Syria announces resumption of traffic at Nassib crossing with Jordan
Syria’s border and customs authority announced normal passenger and commercial traffic would resume at Nassib crossing from the morning of 28 October 2026. The crossing with Jordan had been temporarily closed the previous day.
Syrian official Mazen Alloush communicated the decision to SANA. The announced reopening covers passengers and commercial transport, following diplomatic exchanges aimed at containing tensions over Jordanian strikes in southern Syria.
The Syrian authority says humanitarian exceptions remained in place during the closure. The announcements provide no independent count of traffic actually restored. The joint security committee announced by the two countries is a separate measure from the border reopening.
