Kenya discharges five Ebola patients; two remain in care

Kenya announced on 3 November 2026 that five Ebola patients had left hospital following negative tests. Two other patients remain in care in Nairobi, according to ministry information reported by Reuters.

The five had completed treatment and were symptom-free, Kenyans.co.ke reports. Their discharge reduces the number in hospital without changing the cumulative infection count.

The ministry reports nine confirmed cases, including two deaths, and no new case since 19 October. It also announces the completion of monitoring for 46 contacts, while 52 remain under observation.

These advances do not amount to a declaration that the outbreak is over. The ministry maintains surveillance and response measures.
