Published

The ninth China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai on 5 November 2026. Scheduled to run until 10 November, the event brings together foreign companies presenting products and seeking opportunities in the Chinese market.

Xinhua’s opening report lists 4,142 overseas exhibitors and a total exhibition area exceeding 440,000 square metres. These figures describe announced participation, rather than completed sales.

Reuters notes that the expo hosts product launches, purchase agreements and memoranda of understanding. Distinguishing commercial intentions from transactions actually carried out remains essential when assessing its results.

Exhibition sectors include intelligent industry, automobiles, consumer goods, food and agriculture, medical devices and services.
