2027 health budget: Bjijou outlines hospital priorities and 8,000 proposed posts

Published

Youns Bjijou presented the priorities of Morocco’s 2027 health budget to the social sectors committee on 5 November 2026. According to press reports, the proposal includes around MAD 45.36 billion and 8,000 new budgeted posts.

The minister wants to focus on bringing facilities into service, waiting times and continuity of care. The announced resources remain budget proposals: they do not represent completed recruitment or a measured improvement in access to care.

Presented investment appropriations total MAD 14.49 billion, including MAD 6.14 billion for hospital construction, refurbishment and equipment. Of the proposed posts, 2,600 are intended for territorial health groups.

The parliamentary agenda confirms that the presentation was scheduled for 5 November. The amounts and priorities are reported by the press; final adoption and implementation remain to be followed.
