Published

Delegations from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan met in Bishkek on 6 November 2026 for the second session of the regional contact group on Afghanistan. Official accounts cover security, humanitarian conditions and economic cooperation.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign ministry describes discussions about vulnerable populations and the implications of conditions in Afghanistan for Central Asian stability. Kazakhstan was represented by ambassador-at-large Yerzhan Kistafin.

Astana called for expanded trade, transport connections and humanitarian cooperation. Its statement does not specify a new quantified investment or a timetable for building a corridor. The meeting marks another stage of consultation; it does not establish that the projects discussed have been implemented.
