The French prime minister’s office reported four alerts involving aircraft flying over France, which landed safely, AFP reports. Other European flights were also targeted.
In Ireland, RTÉ and other newsrooms received emailed threats. Radio One’s live output was interrupted. According to PA, police searched the Donnybrook campus, including with dogs, before declaring it safe and allowing staff back.
The threats came ahead of two European summits scheduled in Dublin. The sources consulted establish neither a common origin for the aviation and media alerts nor the identity of those responsible.
