Egypt Healthcare Authority announces follow-up to Egypt Forum health recommendations

Egypt’s Healthcare Authority has directed the creation of a committee to follow up health recommendations from Egypt Forum, according to accounts published on 29 October 2026 of its 103rd board meeting.

The committee is to monitor proposals intended to accelerate universal health insurance rollout. The board also approved new names for eight medical facilities in Minya governorate.

Discussions covered measures to retain family doctors, attract skilled staff and expand specialist training. These measures were discussed; the accounts do not establish that coverage has already expanded or recruitment has occurred. The documented new step is an administrative follow-up decision whose results remain to be established.
