Small Lusaka study describes immune response to Euvichol

A study published in BMC Research Notes on 29 October 2026 examines 20 adults in Lusaka: 15 given one Euvichol dose and five unvaccinated controls, followed for 14 days.

The authors report increases in two immune signalling molecules, IL-21 and BAFF, among vaccinated participants. Most other markers remained unchanged.

The small sample and short follow-up limit the findings. This work describes biological markers; it does not measure clinical protection against cholera.
