In experiments with purified proteins, adding Rab13 to droplets formed by JRAB/MICAL-L2 increases their stiffness about 1.5-fold and reduces the area of actin bundle formation to about one tenth.
The researchers also observed disrupted adhesion structures in epithelial cells lacking JRAB/MICAL-L2. These observations suggest a link between droplet composition, physical properties and cellular organisation.
This is basic research: the findings do not demonstrate a treatment's effectiveness. Independent experimental corroboration is not established in the documents consulted.
