Morocco consults unions on employee representation ahead of 2027 elections

Morocco's Interior Ministry reports meeting unions represented in the House of Councillors on the afternoon of 30 October 2026 to prepare the 2027 elections.

According to the statement carried by Hespress, discussions covered elections for representatives of civil servants, local authorities and public institutions, private-sector employees and mining workers. Their mandates are due to expire in June 2027.

Defining the electorate for employee representatives in the House of Councillors was also discussed. The consultation follows talks with political parties; it does not establish precise polling dates or newly adopted rules.
