Apple cuts Taiwan App Store standard commission to 26%

Apple set 31 October 2026 as the start date for reducing its standard commission on paid apps and in-app purchases in Taiwan's iOS and iPadOS App Store from 30% to 26%. The change follows discussions with Taiwan's Fair Trade Commission.

The company says developers do not need to sign the updated terms by 31 October to receive the new rate. The change concerns Apple's commission; it does not announce an automatic reduction in consumer app prices.

The competition authority accepted the commitment and suspended its investigation into restrictions on developers, according to United Daily News reporting. It says it will monitor compliance and can resume the investigation if the commitment is not fulfilled or the facts underlying its decision change substantially.
