Smoke-free month: France’s dental council calls for patient support

As the eleventh Mois sans tabac campaign opens on 1 November 2026, France’s national dental council calls on members to discuss smoking with their patients and support the thirty-day challenge.

The council highlights the role of dental practices in spotting early signs of oral cancers, explaining tobacco’s effects and directing patients to cessation support. It notes that dentists can prescribe nicotine replacement products.

The national campaign provides online registration, kits and the Tabac info service app. The 39 89 helpline provides support Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm, so it is not open on this launch Sunday. The sources describe available support and do not yet provide results for the 2026 edition.
