The festival runs from 11 to 20 November. The filmmaker will also chair the international jury, an appointment announced earlier in October. These announcements precede the ceremony; the award has not yet been presented.
His films include Mektoub, Ali Zaoua, Horses of God and Casablanca Beats, listed by the Moroccan Cinema Centre. The announced honour recognises his career rather than a film’s result in competition.
