Qatar announces Al Mayeda inquiry as Saudi Arabia condemns attack

Qatar condemned the attack on the Al Mayeda LNG carrier on 1 November 2026 and announced an investigation into its circumstances and those responsible. Saudi Arabia also condemned the targeting of the vessel.

Doha reserves its right to take measures under international law to protect its assets and crews. Riyadh expressed support for Qatar’s efforts to protect its ships and commercial trade.

The incident occurred on the evening of 30 October, according to Nakilat, cited by Doha News. The company says no crew member was injured and no environmental impact was recorded. These statements remain attributed; the perpetrators’ identities are not established.
