The 505-square-metre project was implemented with Petroleum Development Oman and CC Energy Development. It is intended to bring treatment closer to people with kidney failure in Adam and neighbouring areas, according to the ministry.

The unit includes dialysis stations, an isolation room and spaces for patient assessment, peritoneal dialysis and health education. Provision is made for future expansion. The announcement does not yet provide activity figures measuring sessions delivered or reductions in patients’ travel.
