Zambia: Solarcentury Africa presents 112 MWp project for Trident
Solarcentury Africa has presented its collaboration with First Quantum Minerals to develop the 112-megawatt-peak Kusoka photovoltaic plant, primarily for the Trident mining complex in north-western Zambia.
The statement, consulted on 30 October 2026, names YEO as the engineering, procurement and construction contractor, covering work from design to testing and commissioning.
Solarcentury Africa plans to own and operate the facility. Trident comprises the Sentinel copper and Enterprise nickel mines. The project also envisages the option to sell electricity to other customers or on the regional power market.
The announced figure is planned peak capacity. It does not describe an already operating plant or continuous electricity output of 112 megawatts.
