Taiwan expands public vaccination to adults aged 50–64 without high-risk chronic illnesses

Taiwan’s second phase of publicly funded flu and COVID-19 vaccination opens on 2 November 2026 to adults aged 50–64 without high-risk chronic illnesses. The Health Ministry announces the start, following the CDC’s published schedule.

The first phase began on 1 October for priority groups. The new stage extends access to another age and risk category; it is not a new vaccine authorisation.

The ministry says cooperation with Wanjiafu and Lejiakang stores continues to facilitate vaccination sessions. Adults aged 18 and over can also collect health tokens after vaccination: 450 for flu and 900 for COVID-19, or 1,350 for both. This is the incentive scheme described by the authorities; no health outcomes specific to the second phase are documented yet.
