Rabat selected for Women’s World Cup 2027 preliminary play-offs
FIFA announced on 20 October 2026 that Rabat will host the preliminary phase of the 2027 Women’s World Cup play-offs. The tournament is scheduled for 28 November–5 December at the Mohammed VI Football Complex.
Six teams are due to contest nine matches: Chinese Taipei, Ecuador, Ghana, Papua New Guinea, South Africa and Uzbekistan.
The top two will progress to the final play-off phase in February 2027. These are therefore not two direct World Cup berths for Brazil. The announcement concerns a future competition’s organisation, not results already achieved.
