DD India says digital instruments are to transmit data in real time to the National Centre for Seismology in New Delhi. Continuous monitoring covers Kishtwar and neighbouring Himalayan areas.

The minister describes the equipment as supporting disaster preparedness and infrastructure planning. Those goals do not yet measure the new centre’s effectiveness; the sources consulted provide no operational assessment.
