Dubai plans connected monitoring for delivery motorcycles

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, RTA, announced on 2 November 2026 a delivery-motorcycle monitoring system combining a digital platform, connected sensors and cameras. Installation is to remain optional until the end of the first half of 2027 before becoming mandatory.

According to RTA, collected data will cover speed, sudden acceleration, harsh braking, location and routes. Companies are expected to use these indicators to monitor fleets and guide training and preventive action.

The system is being prepared with Dubai Police and other authorities. Improving road safety is the stated goal; the reports do not yet provide measured evidence of the system’s effects. The transition period is intended to let operators prepare equipment and platform connections.
