Dubai Design Week: Tashkeel announces colouring book on UAE biodiversity

Tashkeel announces the launch of “Biodiversity Across the UAE” at Dubai Design Week’s Marketplace on 7 November 2026. Illustrated by Lateefa bint Maktoum, the colouring book is also listed in the institution’s shop.

The book covers the Emirates’ birds, mammals, marine life, trees and shrubs. The publisher’s product description presents one species in its habitat per page, with English, Arabic and scientific names.

Al-Manara carries the launch announcement in Arabic and The Brew News in English; the latter explicitly identifies its text as supplied by Tashkeel. These publications therefore share a promotional origin and do not independently verify that the launch took place. The shop establishes the book’s existence; sales figures and educational effects have not been established.

The programme brings together exhibitions, installations, workshops and discussions about architecture and objects. The organisers say the festival is free to attend and open to all ages.

Downtown Design runs on a separate schedule, from 4 to 8 November, with its own ticketing. The makers’ marketplace is planned for 7–8 November. Those events are still ahead at the time of publication.
