Casablanca: Cherkab remains detained as appeal is adjourned to 16 November

The release applications were examined after appeal proceedings opened. The defence had requested time to prepare its arguments; trade-union and civil-society representatives attended the hearing.

In its on-site report, Médias24 says defence lawyers challenged the conduct of the first-instance proceedings, while the prosecution opposed release. These remain the positions of the parties. Continued detention is not a final ruling on the substance of the appeal.
