Hong Kong GDP growth accelerates to 5.2% in third quarter

Hong Kong’s economy grew 5.2% year on year in the third quarter of 2026, according to the advance estimate released by statistical authorities on 3 November, following 4.2% in the previous quarter.

Real GDP also rose 1.9% from the second quarter on a seasonally adjusted basis. Annual growth over the first nine months reached 5.1%, the government said.

The government attributed the expansion to faster export growth and solid domestic demand. It retained a positive outlook while highlighting geopolitical uncertainty in the Middle East and tighter monetary policies in several major economies. The figures remain advance estimates.
