Benin announces CFA100 billion industrial development fund
Benin’s Council of Ministers decided on 4 November 2026 to create an Industrial Development Fund with capital of CFA100 billion, according to the meeting account carried by local media.
The scheme provides for three components: equity and quasi-equity investments, guarantees sharing risk with banks, and ready-to-use factories.
It aims to finance long-term investment and facilitate industrial facilities in several territories. The responsible ministers still need to formalise the instrument and make it operational. The announced capital therefore does not represent money already distributed to businesses.
