Syria and Saudi Arabia sign defence-ministry cooperation agreement
Ahmed al-Sharaa and Mohammed bin Salman witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Syrian and Saudi defence ministries in Riyadh on 4 November 2026, official accounts said.
The Syrian president’s visit also produced agreements covering industry, agriculture and the environment, alongside cooperation commitments with the Saudi Fund for Development.
The consulted accounts do not detail the defence agreement’s terms. This bilateral signing does not establish that Syria has joined the Makkah defence pact, which remains a separate matter.
