Angola: government proposes 10% public-sector pay rise for 2027

Angola's government proposed a 10% increase in civil-service pay for 2027 at talks with unions in Luanda on 26 October 2026. It is a proposal under negotiation, not a pay rise already in force.

Minister Teresa Rodrigues Dias presented the measure during a review of the three-year agreement with union federations. She also announced a mutual health scheme for January 2027, with its management model still being prepared.

CG-SILA's Francisco Jacinto considers the increase insufficient against earlier commitments, Lusa reports. Unions are to consult their members before communicating their position; no final agreement on the 10% proposal is established.
