M-Pesa revenue was KES100.1 billion, up 13.6%, according to the group’s results. It therefore crossed the KES100 billion threshold for a six-month period.

In Ethiopia, service revenue rose to KES10.6 billion and the EBITDA loss narrowed to KES434.4 million, a reduction of 96.5%. EBITDA measures earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation: the improvement does not mean the subsidiary is already generating a net profit.
